Skeletal Adjusting

A skeletal adjustment is a precise manual or instrument assisted clinical technique used to restore proper movement and alignment to joints. Controlled, specific forces are applied to restricted or subluxated spinal and extremity joints to restore normal joint mechanics, improve mobility, reduce muscle tension, and enhance overall musculoskeletal function. A variety of adjusting techniques are utilized to ensure treatment is appropriate for every age, condition, comfort level, and clinical presentation.

Skeletal adjustments are supported by clinical evidence for the management of many musculoskeletal conditions, particularly mechanical neck pain, mid-back pain, low back pain, certain headache disorders, and joint dysfunction involving the spine and extremities.

Our comprehensive approach recognizes that optimal musculoskeletal function depends on more than joint mobility and alignment. By combining skeletal adjustments with muscle reactivation (AMIT), dry needling, acupuncture, cupping, IASTM and other soft tissue therapies, we address the relationship between the joints, muscles and nervous system as a whole.
